At this meeting: LD strategy in Plymouth, Employment Projects, New Types of Worker and Social Prescribing

2010 sees a different approach to ARC Devon branch meetings. We aim to have meetings in each Local Authority area, and engage with the local decision makers, as well as look at broader issues for the whole county.

We continue our journey in Plymouth . . .

Learning Disability Strategy Commissioning officer Debbie Butcher will bring us up to speed on all the latest thinking Learning Disability services in the city. What are the key influences on strategy and how can we survive these rocky times?

Project Search aims to help people with learning disabilities get and keep permanent, paid jobs. A pilot scheme is based in Plymouth. Mark Hodges (PLUSS) is here to tell us how it’s working out in
the UK.

New Types of Worker is a project looking at how job roles and staffing can change to meet future service provision, such as the increasing demands for personalisation. Leah-Marie Mills from Skills for Care has got the low down on how you can benefit from their findings.

Plus! What can Social Prescribing offer people with learning disabilities in an age of GP fundholding?
