ARC National Induction Project

This project involved the following:

  • 3,600 people being recruited to the project to undertake an induction training package, which includes 2 units towards a LDAF Level 2 Certificate in Working with People who have Learning Disabilities.
  • 1,800 people undertaking work on the foundation package (a further 2 units towards the Certificate).

Some of those undertaking 'foundation' will be new to the project, others will have already completed the induction package, and then move on to foundation; the project aims to recruit a total of 5,400 people.

The initial package on offer consisted of the following:

  • Registration with the ARC LDAF Centre
  • A copy of Developing Competence in Care either in paper, cd-rom or web-based format
  • An initial learning needs assessment, carried out by a work-based tutor
  • Support from a Regional Co-ordinator
  • Assessment and verification of LDAF assignments
  • A completion interview to determine future learning needs
  • Certificates for the completed LDAF units
  • Web-based support for learning
  • Access to a telephone help line

All of the above was available without any cost!
