Skills for Care have led the review of the Induction requirements for new staff and Learning Disabilities Awards Framework.  As a result a new Learning Disability Qualification (LDQ) was launched in 2007.

The new Learning Disability Induction Award that covers the Common Induction Standards in the context of supporting people who have learning disabilities, is now available through two awarding bodies:  City & Guilds and the National Open College Network (NOCN).

Skills for Care also gathers information about the social care workforce through the National Minimum Data Set for Social Care (NMDS-SC).  See the NMDS-SC website for their latest news.
