Helping Service Users Manage Diabetes

Learning Outcomes - by the end of the course particpants will have a basic understanding of diabetes and will be able to:

  • Identify factors which might take people more vulnerable to diabetes
  • Identify factors which might make people more vulnerable to hypoglycaemic attack
  • Be aware of signs of hypoglycaemia
  • Understand how to respond to hypoglycaemia
  • Identify how to support the self management of diabetes
  • Identify the related conditions that can develop in people with diabetes
  • Identify ways of helping a service user to minimise the risk of developing complications
  • Follow specialist advice
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Understand the possible social impact of diabetes for the service usuer

Cost:   ARC Member: £75.00     Non-ARC Member: £90.00

Unless otherwise stated all training sessions run from 10.00am-4.30pm (with tea/coffee available from 9.30am)
