Aim

Understanding, preventing and responding to the abuse of adults with learning disability

Learning Outcomes - By the end of the course participants will have the knowledge to:

  • Recognise and understand human needs and situations in relation to being vulnerable to abuse
  • Recognise possible abusers and abusive practice; and to understand their role and responsibilities in response
  • Understand human needs in relation to adults with learning disabilities
  • Recognise circumstances and practice that comprises needs
  • Understand the role of services in addressing needs appropriately
  • Recognise the characteristrics of abuse and its perpetrators
  • Understand the effects of abuse on its victims
  • Understand the responsibilities of services and staff in responding to abuse
  • Acknowledge the requirement for effective recording and care planning

Cost:  ARC Member: £75.00       Non-ARC Member: £90.00

Unless otherwise stated all training sessions run from 10.00am-4.30pm (with tea/coffee available from 9.30am)
