TELLING IT LIKE IT IS!

Susan Boyd

The Telling It Like It Is! (South-Eastern) Groups have supported men and women with a learning disability to train staff in services in the South Eastern HSC Trust area.

This training is particularly valuable for new support staff. Administration, HR and Finance staff have also found it very useful as an introduction to the goals their organisations are aiming to achieve.

Comments from previous participants include.

It made me realise that people with a learning disability want to be more independent than people in society in general are letting them be.

I learned more about the potential of our service users..we may assume they are less able than they are.

Greatly impressed by the quality of the presentation.

Very good, very informative, Excellent way to learn-very worthwhile.

The session is FREE through funding from the South-Eastern HSC Trust and is open to staff and volunteers from any organisation in this area that supports people with a learning disability.
