LABor - improving opportunities for vocatinal training

When it comes down to improving the opportunities for vocational training of people with learning disabilities and increasing their chances of finding and keeping a suitable job, one finds a dual situation in Europe: on the one hand it is known that a lot of information exists and that there are examples of good practice, but on the other hand it is difficult to get hold of the different pieces of know-how in one place or to be sure that the information is relevant to other regions or countries.

In order to remedy this situation the European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD), together with sixteen service providers and research institutions throughout Europe, submitted the LABOr project to the Leonardo da Vinci programme of the European Commission. The title indicates that the project is a laboratory for labour-related issues. The concrete output of LABOr is this website with database and helpdesk, which strives to be a:

European Knowledge Centre
on Vocational Training and Employment
for People with Learning Disabilities
