A1 Assessor Award

 

Candidates wishing to achieve the Assessor Award (A1) will need to do the following:

  • Fulfil awarding body requirements for occupational competence.
  • Identify 2 N.V.Q. candidates to assess in order to provide evidence of their competence.
  • Attend a 4 day training course which provides the knowledge and skills required to be an assessor and how to build their own portfolio for the A1 award. The training includes 2 initial days, a recall day 1 month later and a portfolio day a further 5 months later.  Therefore assessor candidates would be expected to submit their A1 portfolio six months after registration. 
  • To complete their award, the assessor candidate will be directly observed by the Development Officer during work place visits. These visits can also provide support for portfolio building.

    Assessor Training Course £440
    Award Cost £130 (includes registration, assessment + internal verification of the portfolio and final certification)
    N.B. The following charges may also be necessary:
    £40 – To check and countersign NVQ units by a qualified assessor.
    £40 – To verify NVQ units if an IV is not available.
