Get a career in social services off to a Flying Start!
ARC Scotland, in partnership with the Thistle Foundation, is delighted to offer a unique combination of SVQ3 and values based taught modules which gives candidates enhanced opportunities to explore personalised and person centred aspects of support work. Research suggests that this groundwork in values can turn care workers into enablers and thus ensure positive outcomes for those who use services.
Flying Start programme
By signing up to the Flying Start programme, candidates will:
- Undertake the SVQ process with a specially selected assessor
- Register with Queen Margaret University to do four of the taught modules of the HEC in Person Centred Approaches:

[Credits may be used towards a full award at a later stage]
The taught modules will be completed by April 2009, and it is expected that candidates will complete the SVQ shortly thereafter.
