Specialist Training - Top up Supervisor Units Package
As you will no doubt be aware, phase 2 of the Scottish Social Services Council’s registration of workers in Scotland states that in order to register in Autumn 2009, supervisors in Housing Support Services will require to achieve a qualification* equivalent to Health & Social Care level 4 OR an additional supervisory or management element** to a qualification at level 3.
(* normally within the first 3 year period of registration)
(**A minimum of 15 academic credits at SCQF level 7 or above)
ARC Scotland recognises that some workers who will fall into this category will already have achieved a Health & Social Care level 3 or equivalent and will not necessary need or wish to undertake a full Health & Social Care award at level 4. This may include for example, people who have moved into a supervisory post since achieving a qualification as a support worker.
In order to help organisations and individuals meet these requirements and to make best use of very limited funding for staff development, ARC Scotland has developed a “Top up” package for those who wish to take this option.
This package can also be used as CPD, even if registration is not required, (for example people in a new job role).
