Group Activities
The group has facilitated many activities over the last 4 years in order to meet its objectives. Some examples of these are:
- Two awareness raising events in Inverness and Dingwall
- As part of a Joseph Rowntree funded initiative called "Standards We Expect" successfully helped deliver training on person centred working.
- The network has also been involved in Person Centred training with teachers and this has been followed up with a pilot project in a local school, in which young people had their 'school leaver transition meetings' run using the 'PATH' PCP tool:
All the young people involved were supported one-to-one to develop their 'DREAM'; asked who they would wish to help them move on from school/attend their PATH meeting, sending out personal letters of invitation; given their PATH at the end of the meeting; and (crucially), given continuing help to realise the various elements of their DREAM. - Hosted a conference on Transitions Its My Life, which was attended by over 100 people including people who use services, carers and professionals. See a short DVD of the event
Action Plan
The group has just recently produced a new action plan for 2009/10 and has recruited more people who use services to be involved in the network.
