Active Support

We would like to introduce you to Active Support

Are you looking for a model of support that whole staff teams can deliver which promotes inclusion, independence choice and engagement in everyday activities for people within your organisation? Already doing it? How do you know!

Active Support Presentations

We would like to invite you to a presentation and discussion on Active Support. We are holding two events at:

Proven model of support

Active Support is a proven model of support that shows staff how to interact positively with people they are supporting to become engaged in all activities that make up day to day living.  Evidence shows an increase of 94% in the quality of staff support after the introduction of Active Support within the service and an increase of 300% more assistance from staff. These increases in participation are not only within the home but also within the community.

Reducing staff turnover

Active Support is also proving to be reducing staff turnover which in turn, results in major savings for organisations especially in the current business environment.

Latest research shows a reduction from 34% staff turnover to 10% in one study alone. Where teams are delivering Active Support absence rates are reducing as staff teams are more motivated and enjoy their work.

Reducing challenging behaviour

Active Support is the primary prevention for reducing behaviour that challenges our services with outcomes of 24% decrease in repetitive/self stimulatory behaviour and a decrease of 53% in self injurious behaviour.

The outcome for people with learning disabilities is to be more engaged in their own lives no matter how complex that person is. They are able to make choices in everyday activities however small those choices may be. People are being supported to take more control of situations and have a valued life.
