SVQ Assessment Centre

ARC Scotland is an SQA approved assessment centre

ARC Scotland Training Consortium was established in 1998 We specialize in supporting providers of services to people with learning disabilities and our staff have a wealth of experience in this field.

ARC Scotland are approved by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) to assess Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQ).

We do offer peripatetic assessment but feel it is best practice to support organizations to develop their own assessors and verifiers. This promotes assessments in the workplace by people who are known to and familiar with the service users, thus the issues of confidentiality and a right to privacy are more easily managed.

ARC Scotland aims to deliver training and assessment as flexibly as possible and therefore offer “tailor made” packages to organizations in order to meet their requirements.

The Benefits of Vocational Training

Vocational training is specific to the job role and therefore the most appropriate way of ensuring that the worker is competent in the skills necessary to carry out their work.

The candidate is assessed in the workplace to a range of national occupational standards which meet the registration requirements of the Scottish Social Services Council.

The organization and the service users benefit from a highly skilled, proficient and motivated work force. The candidate will be confident that their work practice meets the national standards of competency, feel more valued and have a better chance of progression in their chosen career.
