"Getting Started" is a new, flexible learning, training and assessment product, developed by ARC UK and adapted for the Scottish workforce by ARC Scotland to meet the guidance issued by Scottish Social Services Council - "Preparing for Practice".
"Getting Started" is linked to SVQ and national occupational standards and offers flexible but structured induction material to all organisations in the social service sector.
The material is generic and can therefore be adapted to suit any specific area of the sector.
"Getting Started" is available as an individual learner pack, which costs £80 and includes independent assessment, or as managers guidance which costs £295 and gives managers optional flexible approaches to delivering the material. Both are available in hard copy or electronic versions.
ARC Scotland wish to pilot "Getting Started" and will offer the one day training for delivering the managers guidance free to 6 organisations this summer. This would normally cost £150 per person to attend.
