The ARC Cymru Active Support Network met in Ystrad Mynach on Wednesday 24th September 2008. There were 4 presentations:
- Dr Edwin Jones from Bro Morgannwg NHS Trust spoke about Challenging Behaviour and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), with reference to a new Advanced Diploma in PBS that is available as an e-learning course from the Trust. A copy of Edwin's presentation can be downloaded from here (Powerpoint, 5MB).
- Helen Waters from the Community Lives Consortium in Swansea spoke about her organisation's experiences in implementing Active Support. A copy of her presentation from our North Wales Active Support Conference in April 2008, which was similar to the one given at this meeting, is available here (Powerpoint, 220kB).
- Steve Jones from Positive Lifestyles spoke about Active Support - Keeping Up The Momentum. There are no slides from Steve's presentation but you are welcome to contact him if you would like to know more.
- Karen Wakelin from NCH Cymru spoke about Active Support for the NVQ Assessor. Again, there are no slides from Karen's presentation.
